Here's my monthly alternative income for July 2008 broken down by source:
Adsense: $272.53
Kontera: $25.71
Text Link Ads: $9.62
Adsdaq: $5.22
Adify: $4.66
Total Alternative Income: $317.74
My online income has risen to an all time record last month as I was able to better promote my websites and to much wider audiences.
In addition, I opened a truly passive website, where I don't do any advertising or posting but yet somehow manage to generate about 50 visitors and 100 impressions per day.
I also started participating in a blog where several other bloggers collaborate, although I earned very little from that activity.
I am most proud with my adsense performance which is almost double versus what I earned with it last month. If you are a blogger and you haven't signed up for Adsense yet, do so. Adsense is the best program for bloggers to monetize their content. Once your earnings reach $100, Google sends you either a check or direct deposit, which is pretty cool. I have received several deposits from them, so I can attest to their timeliness.
My Kontera earnings also increased to a record level. My earnings using this program have not reached $100 yet, so I am anxiously awaiting to see how prompt they are with their payments. Many people complain that kontera doesn't pay enought and that they should abandon it. I strongly disagree with that. Kontera sells in-text links, which is a form of advertising that few other advertising platform utilize. Thus this program helps you find some extra "ad inventory space" to sell, which you never thought existed, and brings in an additional source of income.
Last month I signed up for Text Link Ads and I earned $1.20. This month my TLA earnings have increased to $9.62. I expect to reach the $25 minimum payout there next month.
My adify earnings dropped by over 50% last month. I am very dissapointed with this advertising platform. Since they seldom have any inventory available for display, my banners show public service ads, which don't earn me anything. The only good part about Adify is that they allow you to sell unused inventory by putting in other advertisers ad code. I expect adify to earn even less in August. My initial thoughts were to keep Adify until I reach the $100 payout. So far I believe that it would take me one more year assuming that my payments stay at $5/month. I wonder if I should keep these banners or simply write this whole thing off and forget about it.
I signed up for Adsdaq and I earned more than Adify. I use Adsdaq whenever Adify doesn't have any ad inventory for display. Adsdaq also doesn't show ads all the time, but at least helps me monetize some unuzed inventory that I have on my site.
I will also try to post at least one article per week on this blog about my blogging experience so far.

Congratulations,
I just broke the $100/month barrier on Adsense. I'm planning on reaching $150 this month and $200 in September. You income level is something I'm definitely looking to reach by the end of the year at most :)
Thanks for your kind comments.
My first site plateued at $150/month and then I had to branch out.
One thing is for sure however - I need to step up my promotional techniqies in order to make $100/day in alternative income.
Those are amazingly strong earnings for only 6 months of blogging. I just found your blog, but I hope you offer tips for newer guys like me to learn your secrets.
-Thanks!
Great Going , you have a steady passive imcome stream would love to have a steady income like yours :)hope you cross the $1000 mark soon
Congrats,
Could you tell us the traffic you needed to achieve 250$ in Adsense?
In my case, I'm earning about 1$ per 1.000 pageviews. I don't know if it is low or high.
