Online Income For June 2009
Another month is gone, and another record in online earnings has been achieved.
Adsense revenues broke through 800 and ended at $819.03 for the month. I don't know what I am doing there, but somehow I am probably doing it right. Of course the thing with ad revenues and traffic in general is that search engines really pick up your traffic several weeks after important content has been posted. So even though I am having a higher revenue amount this month, it could be due to a useful article I have posted 2 months ago.
Adsdaq delivered a nice leap to $76.73, vs $49.98 in the previous month. This amount is still lower than the record $103.61 I made in December 2008.
Kontera revenues dipped slightly to $175.11 from $188.28 in the previous month mainly due to decreased traffic from my sites.
INO earnings decreased for a second month in a row to $106 vs $121 last month. I am trying to implement a new affiliate program and used some of the ad space that INO used. The affiliate program I have worked on has been a complete waste of time for the time being however.
Adify revenues dipped to $55.05 for the month, which was much lower than the record $91.14 I made last month. Even at $55 I am happy with Adify, which I use together with Adsdaq to monetize unused space on my sites. Generating an extra $120-$150/month is not too bad, is it? That's a cool 10% of monthly revenues. It just goes to show you that anything you put on a blog, even the most unused space there could be monetized and bring in some additional incremental revenues, which would certainly increase your total revenues.
My direct sales came out to $132 versus $75 in the past month, a nice boost. I use accrual accounting for these revenues, which means that if I received $120 for a one year ad deal from an advertiser, I recognize only $10/month for 12 months. Other bloggers such as Lazy Man and Money have largely volatile earnings, which I suspect is because they recognize the whole $120 deal in one month, even though it is earned over the course of one year.
My text link ad revenues increased to a record $121.80, which is a record amount in comparison to the $117.33 achieved last month. One of my advertisers canceled so I am expecting lower revenues in July.
My total earnings came to $1485.72 for the month, which comes down to $49.52/day, everyday. Despite the fact that I lost one of my traffic sources, It seems that my income was not affected by it. It definitely seems that by attracting a more quality traffic, despite the overall flat to slightly down traffic at some of my sites, I still managed to do better than last month. This exercise goes to show you that one has to continue optimizing and playing with their site, until it is fully optimized.
I am working on replacing some of my adsense ads with certain affiliate programs, which could easily make $25-$35 per action. I am planning to call July "Testing Month". If I could achieve just one sale a day on $25-$35/action that could be just great. It would mean that my sites could do well even if something went wrong with my adsense.
I have been thinking about emergency situations and my blogs. I would probably write about those in a separate post, since this one has already become a long one.

Early Retirement
This post should be an introduction to an ongoing theme of my pursuing early retirement. After leaving my job in January I practically have been living outside the US in one of the newest members of the European Union. So far I could say that living there with under $1000/month is not only possible, but very achievable.
I have began reading other stories of early retirement abroad, which is possible for $500 to $1000 month.
Check these articles out:
Dare to retire before 50
Can you Retire on $500 per month?
Now I wouldn't call myself retired however. My next goal is to pursue a higher educational degree this fall and then work for a couple more years until I build a high enough nest egg so that I could live off my investments - dividends and interest income in addition to what my blogs/sites would generate.

Alternative Income for May 2009
I kept increasing my internet income in May as well. However I am starting to feel the burnout of constant updating of blogs, researching information, checking e-mails, communicating with readers and advertisers. Blogging seems to be a lot more work than I thought if would be.
Anyway, my total revenues rose to $1417.60/month or $45.73/day, which is pretty good.
Adsense remained relatively flat, by generating 774.87, almost $2 higher than what I made there in April.
Kontera was the big surprise, as it netted $188.28, which was a record and 62% higher than last month. I sure hope the momentum there keeps building.
INO revenues dropped by 8%. Again INO revenues seem to have plateaued. I am mostly going for leads there, which generate a one time commission of $3/lead. I could go for selling one of their subscription services for 40% commission on a $99 offer, or I could select a campaign that cold generate cash when I sign users up, and receive residual income as they shop for more INO products. Click Here to sign up for INO's blog, and help me earn some $$. You won't need a credit card, just fill in the info sheet.
Text Link Ads generated a slightly higher amount of revenues,a cool $ 117.33, than last month. I am still selling Text Link Ads on only one site. If the PR were to drop significantly I would probably lose on a lot of revenues. My link prices are increasing however, so once older advertisers drop out, new ones are coming on board, paying the higher price and raising my revenues.
Adify was another big surprise, as revenues tripled to $91.14. This is a sharp reversal of fortunes from last years performance for this program. I never made more than $30 with Adify in 2008, and most months my earnings were between $5 and $10, despite ongoing efforts to increase quality traffic. I would love to see how Adify performs in June.
My private ad revenues dropped 11% after some advertisers failed to renew deals. My monthly revenues there should remain flat at $75 at least untill December, after which they would drop to $57.50 untill March 2010. I guess even if I stopped blogging, I would still be seeing residual income trickling in. Compare this to the income that you are generating from your day.
If you get fired today, chances are you would still get a severance pay and then unemployment benefits. But after that, you won't be generating any income, unless you find a job. I guess people should embrace america's hottest profession by setting up a blog.
In other news I have started researching how much my blogs could fetch at a sale. Some sources claim that blogs tend to sell for 24 times the highest monthly revenues. I guess that puts my blogs worth at $34,000, which is not bad for an year and a half of blogging.

Becoming a Jet Setter
Blogging is a great way to create an income stream, which is not tied down to a single location. Other income streams could be dividends from stocks and interest earnings from deposits and CDs.
I was reading the Four Hour Work Week, which had several links to blogs about retiring abroad. I found the following links and plan to further explore these sites in the future. For all of you alternative income fans, I hope it would be helpful to note that people can still make it on the internet, even if they worked from the Phillipines.

With my current online income stream, coupled with my income streams from dividends and interest, I could certainly afford to retire somewhere abroad or become a jetsetter.
Also check out the Four Hour Work Week blog for tips and tricks from the author of the Four Hour Work Week Tim Ferris.
As for my monthly income report, it should be up within a couple of days. I am still waiting for Kontera to publish my results for the last few days of May. Stay tuned.

Googlenomics for the masses
I found an interesting article while being on Seeking alpha today titled "Secret of Googlenomics: Data-Fueled Recipe Brews Profitability". It's pretty much everything you need to know about the economics behind Google's adwords system.

Income Reports I Read
I am a big fan of reading online income reports. It gives me motivation to keep digging and keep posting, even when I am out of ideas or low on time. I used to read John Chow's monthly income report, but he doesn't seem to publish it anymore.
I also used to enjoy reading Living Off Dividends monthly income report, but he doesn't seem to be posting any relevant content any more.
I have posted a list of monthly income reports to read for your convenience:
